·    HEC as a Local Delivery Group (LDG) is responsible for ensuring that all schools in the Consortium fulfil their duties to provide a full range of Extended Services to children, young people and families.

·   There are six main elements to Extended Services, which together constitute the full core offer:

Ø   Child Care

Ø   Safe Place to be

Ø   Varied menu of out of school hours activities

Ø   Swift and easy access to support services

Ø   Parenting and Family Support

Ø   Community Access

• Any one school on its own isn’t expected to offer all these.  The idea is that schools working together in neighbourhood clusters along with a range of other public, private and voluntary sector offer or signpost to these services.

• Harlow LDG was validated as meeting 100% the full core offer in March 2008 and again in July 2009.
